Regular prenatal monitoring
Prenatal care means regular visits during pregnancy rather than waiting until delivery or a problem becomes obvious. Visits follow the health of the pregnant person and developing baby and can identify some problems early. Prompt care may resolve them or prevent additional difficulties. Monitoring is ongoing, not a single examination that confirms pregnancy or predicts every possible outcome. Questions about symptoms and treatment belong in these visits.
Nutrition and prenatal vitamins
Healthy eating includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and appropriate dairy products. Water also matters. Pregnancy increases requirements for some vitamins and minerals, including folic acid and iron, which is why prenatal vitamins are recommended. A varied diet and supplements have complementary roles. One supposedly perfect food does not replace a balanced eating pattern, and individual nutrition questions should be discussed with the prenatal care team.
